1.Serves as a representative of MercyOnewith the local hospital board, medical staff and community.
2.Plans, organizes, directs andmonitors the activities of all departments/service areas of the affiliatehospital.
3.Responsible for implementation ofhospital policies set by Board of Trustees/Directors.
4.Responsible for Hospital OperatingBudget and Capital Expenditure Plan for the affiliate hospital.
5.Develops strategic plan for hospitalto enhance viability of the affiliate hospital.
6.Assures adequate staffing ismaintained for providing services of the affiliate hospital to patients.
7.Assures compliance with applicablelaws and regulations.
8.Provides leadership to subordinates inthe effective and efficient utilization of human, financial and physicalresources.
9.Provides leadership for team buildingand continuous quality improvement.
10.Serves as liaison among affiliatehospital board, medical staff, hospital administration and MercyOne operations.
11.Promotes public relations andrepresents affiliate hospital in the community and to the public.
12.Meets with departmentmanagers/supervisors to share ideas, new goals, present pertinent information,and for problem solving, encouraging creativity, responsibility andaccountability.
13.Administers disciplinary action in afair and consistent manner as needed.
14.Completes annual performanceevaluations for all department managers reporting directly to the Administrator,and assures completion for of annual performance evaluations for otherdepartment managers and staff.
15.Participates in both internal and externalmeetings, including MercyOne Administrative meetings, so as to promote themission of the affiliate hospital and to enhance coordination and communicationbetween the local hospital community and MercyOne.
16.Maintains current knowledge ofdevelopments and trends in health care.
Marginal Functions :
1.Oversees building and remodelingprojects.
2.Assures development of physician,professional and allied staff recruitment plan.
3.Develops strategic plan for hospitalto enhance viability of hospital.
4.Communicates with insurance companiesand other peers to facilitate contracts and other provider arrangements.
5.Supports and abides by all localhospital, and MercyOne policies and procedures.
6.Completes all educational/employeehealth requirements of MercyOne in a timely manner.
7.Acts in a professional mannerreflecting the mission, philosophy and values of MercyOne.
